Emanuele Ponzo a M Accelerator

A raccontarci la sua esperienza di imprenditore italiano questa volta è stato Emanuele Ponzo, 33 anni e CEO di Crateful, definito da Angelino come il migliore meal delivery service in LA.

Con una laurea in giurisprudenza e un passato di calciatore professionista, Emanuele è arrivato negli Stati Uniti con l’intenzione di deliziare gli americani con cibo di alta qualità.

All’inizio essere un imprenditore all’estero non e stato semplice: non conosceva la lingua ne’ la città, non aveva nessun contatto professionale. Questo è stato il programma di Emanuele nei suoi primi mesi:

  • 4 mesi per imparare la lingua
  • 4 mesi per studiare il mercato
  • 4 mesi per lanciare l’azienda

Con un 4-4-4, quasi un modulo calcistico per scendere in campo, Emanuele ci ha raccontato così la storia della sua compagnia, dalla nascita alle evoluzioni successive. Ci ha spiegato l’origine del nome Crateful, le strategie via via adottate per garantire all’attività di crescere e avere tra i propri clienti brand di successo, dalla Ferrari al Chinese Theater, dalla Bentley alla Aston Martin.

Elenchiamo qui alcuni punti salienti dell’intervento di Emanuele. Un buon imprenditore non deve mai mancare di:

  1. perseveranza;
  2. fiducia in se’;
  3. l’umiltà di accettare eventuali critiche utilizzandole come opportunità per migliorarsi.

Oltre all’avere un’idea brillante, ci ha anche raccontato la sua strategia aziendale, che ha riassunto in questi tre elementi:

  1. il cash flow immediato;
  2. la combinazione prodotto e tecnologia;
  3. l’innovazione.

Ci ha detto cosa fare quando si apre un’azienda:

  • conoscere a fondo la competizione;
  • non essere gelosi del proprio giocattolo e delle shares dell’azienda;
  • scegliere i giusti partner;
  • ricorrere al fundraising quando necessario.

E cosa non fare:

  • credere di poter coprire tutti i ruoli in un’azienda;
  • avere una idea brillante ma con tempi di sviluppo lunghi;
  • non pensare di iniziare senza un fundraising.
