How Tristan Walker Disrupted Men’s Grooming For People of Color – The Story of the Bevel Founder

Tristan Walker is a name that is synonymous with innovation and disruption in the men’s grooming industry. He is a self-made entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist who is the founder of Bevel, a men’s grooming line specifically designed for people of color. In this article, we will take a look at the amazing story of Tristan Walker and how he disrupted the men’s grooming industry for people of color.

Early Life and Education

Tristan Walker was born and raised in South Jamaica. He was inspired by his mother, who was a single mother and worked multiple jobs to support her family. She instilled in him the values of hard work and perseverance, and Tristan followed in her footsteps and worked hard to achieve success. He attended Cornell University and graduated with a degree in Industrial and Labor Relations. After graduating, he went on to pursue his MBA at Stanford Business School.

At Stanford, Tristan developed a passion for entrepreneurship and technology. He worked with several start-ups, developing innovative solutions to various problems. He also worked as an intern at Foursquare, a startup that he later went on to join as a product manager.

Career Before Bevel

After graduating from Stanford Business School, Tristan went on to join Foursquare as a product manager. He was quickly promoted to Director of Business Development, and eventually became the Vice President of Business Development and Platform in 2014. During his time at Foursquare, Tristan developed a passion for developing products for people of color. He saw the lack of products specifically designed for people of color, and this inspired him to create his own brand.

In 2013, Tristan quit his job at Foursquare and founded his own company, Walker & Company Brands. The company was created to address the needs of people of color who were not being served by the existing grooming industry. In 2014, Tristan launched Bevel, a men’s grooming line specifically designed for people of color.

How Tristan Walker Disrupted Men’s Grooming for People of Color

Tristan Walker saw a need in the grooming industry that was not being served: the need for products specifically designed for people of color.

Bevel was created to fill this gap in the market. It was designed to be a premium line of men’s grooming products specifically designed for people of color. The products were designed to be gentle on the skin, as people of color tend to have more sensitive skin. The products also addressed the specific needs of people of color, such as razor bumps, ingrown hairs, and other common skin issues.

In addition to the products, Bevel also addressed the need for education and resources in the men’s grooming industry. They created an online community where people of color could learn more about their unique grooming needs and find a supportive community.

Impact and Growth

Since its launch, Bevel has become a leader in the men’s grooming industry. The products have been widely praised for their quality and effectiveness, and the online community has grown to become a supportive and informative hub for people of color.

Bevel has encouraged other companies to develop products specifically designed for people of color.

Tristan’s Vision for Bevel

Tristan Walker wants to create a brand that is welcoming and inclusive of all people. He believes that diversity and inclusion are essential for success, and that everyone should be able to enjoy the same high-quality products and resources.

Tristan is also passionate about giving back. Through Bevel, Tristan has been able to give back to the community, providing educational resources and scholarships to people of color. He is also a major proponent of diversity in the tech industry.

Tristan’s Other Endeavors

In addition to Bevel, Tristan Walker has pursued other ventures. He is an investor in various start-ups and is a partner at the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. He is also an active philanthropist, supporting a variety of causes, including education, health, and social justice.

Tristan is also the founder of Code2040, an organization dedicated to increasing diversity in tech. He is also a board member of the XPRIZE Foundation and a co-founder of #YesWeCode, a national organization dedicated to teaching 100,000 low-opportunity youth how to code.
